Before joining Edison Business Advisors as an Associate Broker, Ian’s career spanned numerous roles in diverse industries, including over 10 years managing and qualifying a business brokerage firm in Southwest Florida. During that time, Ian listed and sold businesses across various industries, including manufacturers, distributors, retailers, marine fleets, etc., both small and large.
Following graduation from Amherst College, Ian joined Western Title Insurance Company in San Francisco, CA, and managed the Palo Alto office.
Thereafter, Ian joined Mellon Bank in Philadelphia, progressing from credit analysis to commercial lending to restructuring both business loans and real estate assets. Additional banking assignments included positions with MCorp (Houston), First American (DC), and Fleet Financial/Bank of America (New York).
Entrepreneurial ventures included founding and selling Vitamin Corporation of America, located in Huntington, NY.
Ian’s community involvement in Naples includes President of the Collier Citizens Council, Treasurer and Vice Chairman of the Pelican Bay Foundation, as well as Treasurer and Vice President of Naples Community Church.
With transactions totaling well over $1 billion, Ian understands the importance of all financial and other factors that result in a successful deal.
A favorite maxim: “Price is what you pay, value is what you get.” Calculating value is a core mission for every transaction.
